CONFESSION OF SIN
“Our Father in heaven, You have loved us with an everlasting love and set us on paths of righteousness for your own name’s sake. Yet we have strayed from your way and sinned against you in word, thought and deed - through what we have done and what we have left undone. We confess that in our unbelief, we have often failed to trust your promises, believe in your mercy and respond with zeal for your kingdom. Forgive our many sins, cleanse us from all unrighteousness and minister to us, we pray, that we might rise up from this time of worship renewed by your grace and ready to joyfully to serve your everlasting kingdom. In Jesus name, Amen."

ASSURANCE OF GOD’S PARDON
“Come now let us reason together, says the LORD: though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool.”
Isaiah 1:18

  • Those attending Christianity Explored online would come to know Christ as Saviour and Lord.
  • The UK Government and Scottish Executive would fear God and recognise their great need for salvation through Jesus Christ and the wisdom comes down from heaven.
  • Freedom of speech would be preserved in Scotland and that the gospel would not be silenced in the name of “tolerance” or “hate speech”.
  • The word preached during UCCF’s online mission week would be blessed by God and result in real and lasting fruit in the lives of the students who listened in.
  • Those who have entered training for pastoral ministry within the Free Church would be well-nurtured and equipped for whatever sphere of service God calls them to.
  • Justice would prevail in the case of those who vandalised the 13 churches in Burkina Faso and the church there would be strengthened and encouraged in the grace of God.

CONFESSION OF FAITH
I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
the Creator of heaven and earth,
and in Jesus Christ,
His only Son, our Lord:
Who was conceived of the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried.
He descended into hell.
The third day He arose again from the dead.
He ascended into heaven
and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty,
whence He shall come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and life everlasting, Amen.

CONFESSION OF SIN
“Our Father, as we come to worship you this day, we confess that in recent days we have not presented our bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to you. We have entertained impure thoughts, been sharp with our tongues, desired that which is evil in your sight and even done things which do not accord with your holy commandments. Have mercy on us, we pray. Grant us the grace of true repentance, a grief and hatred for sin and a renewed desire to do all things in a manner worthy of the gospel. For we ask this in the name of Christ, our Lord, Amen."

ASSURANCE OF GOD’S PARDON
“In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his Only Son into the world, so that we might live through him. In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.”

CALL TO WORSHIP  |  Psalm  95:6-7

PSALM  63:1-8   |  Sing Psalms  |  Tune - Crasselius

PRAYER
  • Adoration (Praising God for who He is and what He is like/His attributes),
  • Confession (Confessing our sins to God)
  • Thanksgiving (Giving thanks to God for all He has given and continues to give)
  • Supplication (Requesting His help, presence, leading and provision – especially for the people of God in our time of worship on the Lord’s Day)

CONFESSION OF SIN
“Our Loving Heavenly Father, You alone are the Creator and Sustainer of all things. It is our great privilege to live under your omnipotence, righteousness, wisdom, mercy and grace. You love us better than any we could ever know here on earth, and we stand in awe of your power and commitment to cherish us. Yet even though we have tasted your goodness, we are people who would rather trust in ourselves. We place our hope in our own talents and abilities, in relationships with people we admire and love, in our jobs and good health, in our economic value and academic abilities. Forgive us, we pray, for the sin of pride and unbelief and cause us to see that all of our hope is found in who You are and in what You have done. Strengthen our faith and help us to live lives worthy of the name of Christ, for we pray in His name, Amen."

ASSURANCE OF GOD’S PARDON
“For if the blood of goats and bulls, and the sprinkling of defiled persons with the ashes of a heifer, sanctify for the purification of the flesh, how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, purify our conscience form dead works to serve the living God.” Hebrews 9:13-14
