  • Adoration (Praising God for who He is)
  • Confession (Confessing our sins to God)
  • Thanksgiving (Giving thanks to God for all He has given and continues to give)
  • Supplication (Pleading His help, presence, and power – especially for the people of God on the Lord’s Day)

CONFESSION OF SIN
“Have mercy on us, O God, according to your steadfast love; according to your abundant mercy blot out our transgressions. Wash us thoroughly from our iniquity, and cleanse us from our sin. For we know our transgressions, and our sin is ever before us. Create in us a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within us. Restore to us the joy of our salvation, and uphold us with a willing spirit, for we ask it all in Jesus’ name, Amen.”

ASSURANCE OF PARDON
“The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love. He will not always chide, nor will he keep his anger forever. He does not deal with us according to our sins, nor repay us according to our iniquities. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us.” (Psalm 103)

PSALM 66:1-7, 18-20  | Sing Psalms | Tune - Diademata

PRAYER
  • Adoration (Praising God for who He is and what He is like/His attributes),
  • Confession (Confessing our sins to God)

CONFESSION OF FAITH
I believe in God, the Father almighty,
creator of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit

and born of the virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried;
he descended to hell.

The third day he rose again from the dead.
He ascended to heaven
and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty.
From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,

the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen.

  • Adoration (Praising God for who He is and what He is like/His attributes),
  • Confession (Confessing our sins to God)
  • Thanksgiving (Giving thanks to God for all He has given and continues to give)

CONFESSION OF SIN
“Our Father, we thank you that through Jesus Christ our Lord you have brought us from death to life. Yet we confess that we often live as if we are still dead in sin. Our old habits die hard. Our thoughts are impure, our desires ungodly and our actions often betray your commandments. Have mercy upon us, we pray. Forgive these and all of our sins. Help us to walk in the light, casting off everything that hinders the life which you have purposed for us and to count all things as rubbish in order that we may gain Christ and be found in Him. For we pray in His glorious name, Amen.”

ASSURANCE OF GOD’S PARDON

  • Thanksgiving (Giving thanks to God for all He has given and continues to give)
  • Supplication (Requesting His help, presence, leading and provision – especially for the people of God in our time of worship on the Lord’s Day)

CONFESSION OF SIN
“Forgive us, O Lord, for everything that spoils our witness for you; that we so often deny with our lives what we say with our lips; for the difference between our creed and our conduct, our profession and our practice; for any example that makes it easier for people to criticise your church or for another to sin. Grant to us a true penitence for our sins and cleanse us from them by the blood of Christ. Strengthen us by your Spirit, so that in the coming days we might honour you in every sphere of our lives. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord, Amen.”

BENEDICTION
“The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you, this day and evermore, Amen.”

“Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor, and do all your work, but the seventh day is a sabbath to the LORD your God…For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day.
